Install Contrapunk

Download the current release from GitHub Releases. Only install files attached to an actual release; documentation may describe surfaces introduced after an older release.

macOS desktop

1. Download the universal .dmg.
2. Open it and drag Contrapunk to Applications.
3. Launch it once outside your DAW so macOS can complete its first-run checks.

The universal build supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

macOS plug-ins

Prefer the signed .pkg when a release provides one. The raw plug-in ZIP is useful for manual installation or recovery.

User-only installations use the same paths under ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/.

After installation, restart the DAW or run its plug-in rescan. Logic users should see both Contrapunk and Contrapunk Guitar under Contrapunk Audio.

Windows desktop and plug-ins

1. Run the desktop installer attached to the release.
2. Run the plug-in installer, or extract the raw plug-in ZIP to your preferred locations.
3. Rescan plug-ins in the DAW.

Common system-wide locations are:

• VST3: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
• CLAP: C:\Program Files\Common Files\CLAP

Verify the release asset

Do not assume a Windows file is signed unless the release explicitly says so. The operating system may show an additional confirmation for unsigned builds.

Browser

Nothing to install. Open app.contrapunk.com in a current browser. MIDI access requires a secure HTTPS page and browser permission.
