Troubleshooting

  • Reconnect the device and reopen the picker.
  • Check the selected MIDI or audio channel.
  • Grant browser MIDI or microphone permission.
  • In a DAW, record-enable or monitor the track.
  • For guitar, confirm the interface meter moves before Contrapunk.
  • Change Pass Through to a harmony mode.
  • Set voice count above one where appropriate.
  • Check key and scale.
  • Apply the selected arrangement.
  • Start transport if the arrangement requires it.
  • Verify the surface supports the requested capability.
  • Confirm the built-in synth is enabled or a MIDI output is selected.
  • Check the destination instrument and channel.
  • Remove duplicate or circular routing.
  • Raise role and master levels.
  • In Logic, put an instrument after the MIDI FX or route the Guitar virtual MIDI source to an instrument track.
  1. Release the input and sustain pedal.
  2. Use panic or all notes off.
  3. Reduce synth release, delay feedback, and reverb.
  4. Check for ringing guitar strings.
  5. Inspect whether the external instrument received note-off.
  6. Stop transport and clear any delayed lane tail.
  • Remove effects before detection.
  • Lower gain if clipping.
  • Mute unused strings.
  • Use a middle-register fretted note.
  • Calibrate with the same input chain.
  • Increase confidence rather than forcing a noisy signal into note events.
  • Confirm the format is supported by the host.
  • Check the standard installation folder.
  • Restart the DAW and rescan.
  • On Logic, look under Contrapunk Audio in the correct MIDI FX or Audio FX menu.
